Crees Manu: Conservation Research and Sustainable Development in the Amazon

We are looking for volunteers to help with conservation research and sustainable community development projects in the Manu Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Peruvian Amazon which is a biodiversity hotspot but also an area of extreme poverty. Example volunteer projects include working with families to build organic bio-gardens in order to raise income and reduce malnutrition in local communities, or teaming with university researchers to study endangered species such as the Blue-headed Macaw. The volunteer programme runs from 4 to 12 weeks and starts at $2,099 which includes extensive training, local transport, food and accommodation at our sustainably-designed rainforest lodge and research facility, the Manu Learning Centre. One and two week voluntourism packages are also available for short-term volunteers. Please visit www.crees-volunteer.org for more information or to apply.

Organization details

crees is committed to providing sustainable solutions to the environmental, social, and economic issues facing the Amazon rainforest and its local people in the Manu region of southeast Peru.
