What can you accomplish in century, you ask? Well, for one, you can become the first national organization in the world created to protect and promote your country's natural and cultural heritage. And, along the way, you can build a network of 42 national parks (starting with the beautiful Banff National Park), 167 national historic sites and four national marine conservation areas. So to you, Parks Canada, happy centennial!
While it's no secret we Verge-ites love to take the unbeaten path through far-flung locales around the world, there's a lot to be said about discovering and appreciating the many wonders that we're lucky to have so close to home.
